| 3-days martial art games competition-2011 concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, March 30: The 3-days Martial Art Games competition-2011 concludes here today. The competition was organised by IRP-II Bn at Indoor Stadium Srinagar. The competition includes Tharg-Ta, Wu-Shu and Judo.
Commandant II Bn, Mr. M. Y. Mir, Deputy Director Doordarshan Syed Zeeshan Fazil, Deputy Director Information and Public Relation, Mohammad Yaseen Khan, Field Publicity Officer, Sajjad Hussain and other connected officers were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Commandant, M. Y. Mir in his address highlighted the importance of these games particularly for girls and said the girls should come forward in a big way to learn the art of self defence which gives them a sense of self confidence and self defence. He expressed gratitude to media including Doordarshan Kendra, Information and Radio for extending full cooperation in promoting the sports.
Later, trophies, certificates and cash prizes were distributed among the winning teams.
The Commandant also gave trophies to Jammu and Kashmir Information department, Doodarshan Kendra Srinagar and Manager Bakshi Stadium Indoor Stadium.
