| House allows introduction of pvt member's bill | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 30: The legislative assembly today allowed the introduction of a Private Member's Bill moved by PDP's Zulfikar Ali. The Bill seeks to prohibit the sale, purchase, consumption and
manufacture of liquor in the state. However, further discussion on the Bill could not be held as the House was adjourned till tomorrow due to Indo-Pak cricket world cup semi-final.
Earlier,Zulfikar said the House should allow the introduction of the bill as it was a serious issue and the sale and manufacturing of liquor was spoiling the younger generation which was getting
addicted to its consumption.He said though the government earned taxes from the sale,
manufacture and consumption of liquor, it should think seriously to put a break on it.
