| Two new books of Dogri poetry were released | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Mar 31: Two new books of Dogri poetry were released in a function organized by Dogri Sanstha, Jammu.
Cheten Da Pataaru & Beeba Painchhi have been written by veteran Dogri Poets. Pradyuman Singh Jindrahia &. Khajoor Singh respectively.
Chaman Lal Gupta, M.L.A., Jammu West was the Chief Guest in the function and Shabir Mujahid, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu presided over it.
A large number of writers, intellectuals and prominent citizens attended the function. The highlight of the function was the rendition of poetry by the authors who are both very well renowned and accomplished folk singers of the region. The audience highly appreciated the soulful musical rendition of the poetry by the authors. Chaman Lal Gupta expressed his happiness over the efforts being made in the promotion of Dogri language in general and in particular by Dogri Sanstha.
Shabir Mujahid in his presidential address emphasized that Dogri has a very rich treasure of folk music and folklore which needs to be showcased. He offered his full support on behalf of Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu highlighting the folklore and folk music of this region.
Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha in his welcome address expressed his satisfaction over the pace of publication of Dogri books in the recent times. He said that a large number of books being published in Dogri augers well for Dogri language.
