Lok Adalat settles 91 cases at Kathua | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Mar 31: On the second and concluding day of the Mega Lok Adalat organized under the chairmanship of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Kathua, 91 cases were decided. The Bench No. 1 presided over by Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Kathua and assisted by Deepak Sethi, CJM, Kathua and Renu Bala, Advocate (Mediator) in which 41 number of cases were taken up out of which 34 were of MACT and 7 of Bank recovery suits and all of them were decided and a compensation of Rs. 19,13000 was ordered to be distributed among the claimants in the shape of award of Mega Lok Adalat. The Bench No. 2 was comprised of Aarti Mohan, Munsiff, Kathua and assisted by Chuni Lal, Advocate (Mediator). The Bench No. 3 consisted of Y. P. Sharma, District Mobile Magistrate (Traffic), Kathua and was assisted by Subash Sharma, Advocate (Mediator). In the aforesaid benches, Criminal compoundable cases and petty offences were taken up and 50 were decided and a fine of Rs. 22,600 was realized on spot. In both the dates, the total fine of Rs. 1,54,000 was recovered and total number of cases on both the dates is 301. Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Kathua, Jang Bahadur Singh, Jamwal, lauded the role of the Mediators in arriving at the amicable settlements who were joined as Bench Members in the Mega Lok Adalat.
