| Dogra College of Education holds valedictory function | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 31: On the concluding day of the 17th Annual Sports Meet the valedictory function was held at Dogra College of Education.
During the three days programme various sports events were organized in badminton, one leg race, volleyball, long jump, javelin throw, shot put, tug of war, lemon race, ghada race, crocodile race for both boys and girls.
On the final day in badminton for boys Tripurari Kumar defeated Sanjeev Singh and Sinanand defeated Ajit Kumar Pal in both single sets.
However Chenab house headed by Capt. Tripurari Kumar defeated Utterbaini house headed by Capt Sanjeev Singh in the final match.
In the Badminton for women Meenu Chanyal beat Meenu Sharma in single set and Bandana lost by Anjana Charak in single sets, however Jehelum House headed by Capt Meenu Chayal beat Chenab House headed by Capt Niteshi.
In the Volleyball match for Boys Jehlum house headed by Capt Mohd Akram beat Chenab House headed by Capt Sanjeeb with (25-20),(18-25) and (25-21) points for title clash. In the Volleyball match for girls Jhelum house headed by Capt Meenu Chanyal beat Utterbani House headed by Capta Meenu Devi with (25-20),(25-16) and (25-19) points for title class.
In the tug of war match for women Jhelum house headed by Capt Kavita Kumari beat Utterbaini house headed by Capt Meena Kumari with 2-1 score in the finals.
In the Athletics, In the Shot put for boys Rakesh Kumar bagged the Gold Medal while Mohd Mushtaq and Anil Kumar had to stay with Silver and Bronze respectively.
In the Discus throw for Boys Girdhari Lal stood 01st Ganga Ram stood 02nd and Lokesh Mohan remained at 03rd spot.
In the Javelin throw for Boys Javed Kumar bagged on 01st position while Waseem and Nokhil Kumar stood 02nd and 3rd respectively.
In the Long Jump for boys Mohd Akram bagged on 01st position, Shivanand stood 02ndand Sanjeev Singh stood 03rd.
In the Long Jump for Girls Meenu Chandyal bagged the Gold while Bhawana and Pooja Rani had to manage with Silver and Bronze respectively.
The function was presided over by BD Damral director Dogra College of Education the Principal of the College Dr Kiran Lothra presentd the report of the Sport activities. The various Sports Events were undertaken under the supervision of Bansi Lal Tidiyal Sports Officer and Sumer Singh Convener of the Sports Committee assisted by Sandeep Dabgotra Sports supervisor.
In the end refreshment was provided to the students.
