Purani Mandi observes bandh after landlord beats shopkeeper | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 31 : The Purani Mandi market observed a bandh here today, demanding immediate arrest of the landlord who last night beat up a shopkeeper.Police sources said shopkeeper Om Prakesh Shukla had a scuffle with his landlord Dalbir Singh at Purani Mandi last night after Indian won the cricket world cup semi-final match against Pakistan. In the clash, while Shukla sustained injuries, the accused fled the spot, the sources added. In protest against the incident, the Purani Mandi shopkeepers downed their shutters and held a demonstration. They were demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Shukla's family members and shopkeepers sat in the middle of the road, blocking vehicular traffic for over an hour.Later, on the intervention of senior police officers, the protesters dispersed peacefully.Police had registered a case in this connection.
