Amit, Lokesh guide Law to 53 runs win

JAMMU, April 01: Sailing on superb batting from first class cricketer, Amit Baloria and all round performance from Lokesh, Department of Law registered a fine 53 runs win over Department of Economics in the ongoing inter-department (T20) cricket tournament of University of Jammu (JU) on the campus, here today.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Law set a target of 187 runs for nine, which, in reply, Economics could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 133 runs in 16.2 overs.
Amit played fine innings of 41-ball 62 runs studded with eight fours and two sixes while Lokesh contributed 29. Azhar and Sandeep also played well contributing 20 and 14 runs respectively. From Economics, Love Kumar claimed three wickets while Sukhvinder bagged two.
Later, chasing a target of over nine-run per over, Economics failed to attain the goal and lost all their wickets in 16.2 overs for 133 runs. Sukhvinder (48 off 28 balls, 7x4, 1x6) and Satvir (33 off 20 balls, 6x4) were top scorers from the side. From Law Department, Lokesh Kumar, who also batted well, bowled superb spell taking away three wickets for 28 runs while Mohinderpal Singh was most successful bowler with four for 32.
Today’s match was officiated by Raj Kumar, Rajeev Sharma and Sat Pal (scorer).
