| Display Your Talent 2006-07 | | Kanwar, Risha, Shelly shines in Rangoli Competition | |

Kanwar Iqbal from Government Medical College, Jammu was adjudged first in the Rangoli Competition whereas, Risha Uttam from the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu and Shelly Verma from Women College Gandhi Nagar, bagged second and third prize respectively on the fifth day of the Display Your Talent contest 2006-07 being held at JU.
The certificates of merit were awarded to Chandra Verma from R K College of Education, Neeraj Sharma from GGM Science College, Suman from B N College of Education, Gurmeet Kour from Women College Udhampur and Pallavi Pooni from Cosmic College of Education. The participants prepared beautiful Rangolies with petals, saw dust, pulses, sparklers and colours etc. A total of 56 students from the different teaching departments of the University and its affiliated Colleges participated in the competition. This Art is known differently in various regions such as Mandna, Alpana, Alekhan, Chowk Poorna, Kolam and Rangoli etc.
Earlier, floral tributes were paid to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on his 117th birth anniversary. Among those who paid tributes were Prof. N R Sharma, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee, Dr. D S Pathania, Dean Students Welfare and Dr. Shohab Inayat Malik, Asstt. Dean Students Welfare.
