JKP to organise Inter Zone Sports Meet in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 1: Jammu and Kashmir Police is organizing 11th Inter Zone Sports Meet in Jammu from April 5 to April 9. The teams from all wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police from across the State would participate in the five day event featuring a series of sports activities at different venues in the city of temples. This was disclosed by the Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda at a press conference held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. He said that the tournament is an important feature of JKP which is organized annually at Jammu. Similarly other sports tournaments are held in the valley during the summer months. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been organizing various sports tournaments throughout the year in which various National and State level teams have been participating. Jammu and Kashmir Police is encouraging the sports personnel not only within the department but is also providing possible assistance in the shape of technical as well as logistic support to the sports lovers of the State, he added. He said that the work undertaken to establish a Gymnasium at Gulshan Ground will be completed within next two months and will be thrown open for sports lovers of the State. Giving the details, Khoda said that for smooth conduct of the 5-day long sports meet, various committees have been constituted headed by senior officers to make the meet a success. All the games and events will be conducted as per the rules laid by the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi and on knock out basis.
