KISHTWAR, April 1:- The people of Kishtwar are facing acute shortage of foodgrains due to bias and unfair working of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department employees and holding prize charges by class IV employees at Kishtwar. The patience of poor rationees broke out today when a dealer ( Commission Agent of C.A & P.D Kishtwar) stated selling the ration openly to people from a loaded truck in the way instead of his Fair Price Shop ( Ration depot) as the ration card holders were waiting for ration at ration depot. The innocent aggrieved rationees raised the alarm against the ration dealer and C.A & P.D Department , on which the Asstt. Director C.A & P.D Kishtwar Ghaar Singh , reached on spot where people were standing infront of empty ration depot , people lodged complained regarding the unfair distribution of Govt. ration through the private dealers , Asstt. Director C.A & P.D provided full assurance to for enquiry, but after leaving the spot he was brought under influence by his responsible subordinate officials /officers , on which he stated that the loaded ration tuck of dealer has been looted by the people . On this the people lodged their resentment with Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kishtwar who assured them for through enquiry into entire episode. The authorities of C.A & P.d Kishtwar has permitted one ration dealer to open the branch offices of ration depots to several other places , owing to which the ration card holders are suffering a lot and most of their time wastes in moving from one station to another for collecting their ration , further more it has been learnt from sources that most of class IV employees have been given the charge of Food stores and Sale depots without adopting any criteria , even the employees who are on temporary roll of the department and have no service book have been assigned the job storekeepers , and other control clerks and accounts which is gross negligence .
The authorities of C.A & P.D Kishtwar in order to save their skin have no reportedly appointed some new commission agents , but again all the required formalities have been set aside.
