PDP to hold protests at tehsil headquarters on April 9 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, April 1: As part of its ongoing programmes against failure of the state government and for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir problem, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today announced to hold massive demonstrations at all tehsil headquarters on April 9. After the historic rally at Parade Ground on March 13, the party has decided to organise tehsil level protest against repressive policies being adopted by the coalition regime. Decision to organise tehsil level protests was taken today in a meeting in which all senior leaders of the party from Jammu province present. Speaking in the meeting, PDP leaders besides highlighting failure of the state government to provide basic amenities, the party workers during their protest would also demand peaceful resolution of the Kashmir problem. Reiterating demand of the party to withdraw of forces from the civilian areas, PDP leaders observed that revocation of draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA), Distributed Area Act (DDA) and release of political prisoners were must for creating conducive atmosphere in the State. PDP leaders asserted that core issue of their party remains the peaceful resolution of the problem of Jammu and Kashmir. “Since its formation, PDP has been aggressively advocating for the resolution of this problem and the party would continue to strive for it through democratic means”, said PDP leaders. They said that proposed tehsil level protests would be organized to express resolve of the party continue their peaceful campaign for the resolution of the Kashmir problem.
