| Entry ticket for New Jakhni Park starts | | | EARLY TIMES
Udhampur Apr 1: With a view to make recreational places including parks and gardens as revenue generating assets so that more parks and gardens could be developed in the state and their maintenance is done properly, the Department of Floriculture started the entry ticket for entry to New Jakhni Park at Udhampur today.The District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Baser Ahmed Khan purchased the first entry ticket at the ticket counter of New Jakhani Park in presence of the officers of Floriculture Department including Joint Director, Landscape Architect (U&R) and Assistant Floriculture Officer, Udhampur. The District Development Commissioner Udhampur was informed that entry charges of adults are Rs.10/- and children below 12 years is Rs. 5/-.
The park shall remain open for public from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm during summer. Department of Floriculture started the development of New Jakhni Park Udhampur w.e.f August 2008 and the park was completed in the year March 2010 with the estimated cost of Rs. 1.68 crore.
The park was thrown open for public by the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture on April 1, 2011.
