4/1/2011 9:04:21 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 1: Tehreek-e-Insaf, an organization fighting for militancy infested victims of Jammu province, today sought fresh registration of displaced families in Jammu Province.
Addressing the media persons today General Secretary of TeI Ravinder Raina alongwith Ghulam Moeudin Beig said about 12000 families have displaced from their native places by virtue of terrorism in Jammu province but the State government has registered only 1054 displaced families of Jammu region.
Raina said that TEI had tried repeatedly to meet the Chief Minister to discuss the problems of the people but despite assurance from his office TEI have not been given a chance to meet the Chief Minister.
He said Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla has not presented the actual data in the Assembly.
He said it is a matter of serious concern that thousands of displaced families in Jammu region are nowhere in the list prepared by the state government. Their are thousands of displaced families living in various cities of Jammu region like Mendhar, Poonch, Suronkote, Rajouri, Budhal, Koteranka, Triyath, Sangaldan, Banihal, Doda, Kishtwar, Badherwa, Basanthgarh, Bani and Belicharana are nowhere in government records.
Raina maintained that the data presented by Revenue and Relief Minister in assembly is the only 10 per cent of the total displaced families of Jammu province so the time has come when our state government should take this matter seriously and order the fresh registration of Jammu migrants.
Blaming the state government for adopting a dual policy on the migrants Ghulam Moeudin Beig said the court has given orders that they be paid relief as per Kashmiri Migrants but the Revenue Minister is unaware of the directions made by High Court and the rulings of Supreme Court .Beig demanded proper rehabilitation and employment package for 8 lakh militancy victims of Jammu Province.
