| All party meet denounce cutting short of Shri Amarnath yatra pilgrimage | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 1: A meeting of Baba Amaranth & Buda Amaranth Yatri Niyas was held under the chairmanship of Surinder Mohan Aggarwal at Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Geeta Bhawan, Prade Ground Road Jammu, to discuss about the arrangements regarding the coming annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji.
The meeting was called to apprise all the social, religious, philanthropic and non political associate member organisations of Baba Yatri Niyas about the meeting of a 10 members delegation of Baba Yatri Niyas, which had met N.N. Vohra, the Governor of J&K State on 25th of June 2011 to discuss about the arrangements regarding the coming Yatras of Shri Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Ji.
The main purpose of calling this meeting was to decide weather the decision of SASB of starting the yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji from 29th June instead of the auspicious Jaishth Purnima on 15th June, thereby reducing the duration of Shri Amarnath Yatra from 60 days to 45 days is acceptable or not, to all the associate member organisations of Baba Yatri Niyas.
The delegates present in the meeting were informed that Baba Yatri Niyas had adopted all the methods of persuading SASB to announce the commencement date of Shri Amarnath Yatra from the auspicious Jaishth Purnima on 15th June.
These delegates were informed that, various deputations of Baba Yatri Niyas had met with the representatives of different political parties including BJP, Congress, National Panthers Party, J&K Peoples Democratic Party and informed them about the decision of SASB of reducing the duration of Shri Amarnath Yatra.
The delegates present in the meeting were informed that the deputations of Baba Yatri Niyas in their exercise of mobilising opinion in their favour had also met Shyam Lal Sharma and Raman Bhalla, the ministers in the J&K Govt. and informed them about the decision of SASB of reducing the duration of Shri Amarnath Yatra.
All the delegates of various organisations present in the meeting were of the opinion that the decision of SASB of reducing the duration of Shri Amarnath Yatra is not acceptable and all of them agreed to render any kind of support in case SASB doesn’t review its decision of the commencement date of Shri Amarnath Yatra.
It was resolved in the meeting that a decision of BABA Yatri Niyas shall be taken regarding this matter and shall be announced in the General Council meeting of Baba Yatri Niyas which shall be held on 3rd of April at Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Geeta Bhawan, Prade Ground Road Jammu.
The other prominent members of the Baba Yatri Niyas who were present in the meeting included Ramakant Dubey, president of VHP - J&K State, Jagdish Sharma, president Sanatan Dharam Sabha Jammu, Karan Singh Charak, gen. secretary Baba Yatri Niyas, Kuldeep Wahi, president Pratayan Vikas Mandal, Pawan Kr. Jain, president of Aatmanand Jain Sabha Jammu, V.K. Gupta, president VHP, Jammu Mahanagar, Ved Parkash Sharma, president Dogra Brahaman Pratinidhi Sabha Jammu, Ashwani Chrungoo, president Panun Kashmir, Inderjeet Khajuria President AJHLA, Amarnath Vaishanavi, president ASKPC, Mahaveer Parsad, president Aggarwal Sabha Jammu, M.R. Bhagat, president All J&K Megh Sudhar Sabha, and Dineshwar Singh Jamwal, convener Baba Yatri Niyas
