TBA bids farewell to CCT Khwaja Bashir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 1: Tax Bar Association (TBA) Jammu in an impressive function bade farewell to the retiring Commissioner Commercial Taxes (CCT), J&K Khawaja Bashir Ahmed. In the programme, Excise Commissioner G A Mir was also present. The President of the association Advocate V K Grover lauded the role played by distinguished officer in proper implementation of VAT in Jammu and Kashmir, achieving the targets fixed from time to time for revenue generation without much difficulty to the traders and issuing of various clarifications as and when required to minimize litigation. Grover also appreciated Khawaja Bashir Ahmed for his relentless efforts in launching website of the department and currently on its total computerization which is likely to be initiated shortly. Addressing the gathering Khawaja Bashir Ahmed revealed that he had tremendous intuitive and learning experience of the Bar. He wished to always visit Bar Room after his retirement and get more close relations with its members. Commissioner Excise G A Mir also addressed the audience. He said that while issuing clarifications the viewpoints expressed by the lawyers and the ruling of various High Courts and Supreme Courts are extremely useful.
