Young Star beat KCC in Rajiv Cricket

JAMMU, April 02: Host Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) today outplayed Kashmir Cricket Club (KCC) by 13 runs to advance into the next round of 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial (T20) Cricket Tournament underway at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, YSCC won the toss and elected to bat first they made 127 runs losing all their wickets in 19.1 overs. Aamir was main scorer with 27 runs, including three boundaries while Romy, Aman and Kapil contributed 17, 16 and 14 runs respectively.
From Kashmir Cricket Club, Vishal Singh Bhau was most successful bowler who claimed three wickets for 17 runs in four overs. Rahul Moosa and Pankaj were other wickets takers with two wickets each.
In reply, Kashmir Cricket Club could not chase the target when the whole side bowled out for 114 runs in 17.4 overs. At one point of time it seemed that Kashmir CC would reach the required target comfortably as skipper Rishi Kumar (28) and Rahul
Chaudhary (17) added 40 runs together for the fifth wicket partnership brining the total to 70 for four in 12 overs.
However, Rishi’s dismissal turned the tide in Young Star’s favour as the rest of the batsmen failed to deliver in the crunch situation. Aman, Vishal Singh and Akshay Koul contributed 11, seven and eight runs to the team’s total respectively. From YSCC, Jot Singh claimed four wickets in his four overs giving away 23 runs, while Rajan
and Sonu took two wickets each.
Later, Jot Singh was declared man of the match for his four-wicket haul. Today’s match was officiated by Madan Lal, Pappu Dogra and Rakesh Sharma.

Big win for Stadium XI in U-14

Meanwhile, in under-14 cricket tourney, riding on an unbeaten 61 runs off just 45 balls by Mohit Gupta, Stadium XI registered a huge 67 runs win over Hari Cricket Club in the 1st Simula Budding Cricketers Tournament.
Batting first, Stadium XI made 132 runs in the allotted 15 overs, which, in reply, Hari Club failed to overhaul and could make only 67 runs for the loss of nine wickets.
