Army installed 979 micro hydel projects in J&K: Ruhullah | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 2: Minister for Science and Technology Aga Ruhullah has said that 1000 Micro Hydel Projects (MHEP) were to be executed by various Army formations under BADP, MNRE and Operation Sadbhavana in the State, of which 979 micro Hydel projects have been installed. He said that for the purpose, Rs 3.68 crore have been released under BADP and Rs 8.7 crore under MNRE through JKEDA to the Army. He said that under Operation Sadbhavana, funds have been provided directly to the Army by the Centre. This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Vijay Bakaya in the Legislative Council today. Minister said that MHEP were to be installed to generate electricity with output of 3-5 KVA in each case, adding on average 15 to 20 households were to be benefited per MHEP. Minister said that in order to inspect MHPs installed by various Army formations, Science and Technology Department has constituted block level committees consisting representatives from Army, Power Development and Rural Development Departments thereby requesting the concerned District Development Commissioners to facilitate inspections of these projects so that same are handed over to concerned Village Level Committees.
