3 private member bills withdrawn in LC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 2: As many as 3 Private members Bills moved in the Upper House today were withdrawn following assurances by the government that they are already working bills pertaining to the issues raised by them. A Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Code of Criminal Procedure, Svt 1989 (L.C. Private Member’s Bill No. 3 of 2011) moved by Naresh Kumar Gupta and A Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Code of Criminal Procedure, Svt 1989 (1933 A.D) (L.C. Private Member’s Bill No.4 of 2011) moved by Murtaza Ahmad Khan were withdrawn after Minister for Law Ali Mohammad Sagar assured the House that government intends to bring in a comprehensive legislation on the subject which encompasses the amendments moved by the members. A Bill to provide for making provisions to protect the interest of farmers in the State and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto (L.C Private Member’s Bill No. 6 of 2011) moved by Ajay Kumar Sadhotra was also withdrawn after Minister for Medical Education, R. S. Chib gave a resume of the steps being taken by the Government for the welfare of the farmer community.
