| Emphatic 8-wkt win for Sanskrit Deptt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 02: Department of Sanskrit registered an emphatic eight-wicket win over Department of Chemistry to move into the third round of the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament of University of Jammu (JU) on the campus, here today.
Earlier, Chemistry Department won the toss and decided to bat first. They made 69 runs losing all their wickets in 13.1 overs of the 20 overs game. Gurpreet and Yawer were main scorers with 26 and 20 runs in their respective accounts. From Sanskrit, Ashish claimed four wickets for 12 runs, followed by Rohit and Mahesh, who shared two each.
Batting second, Sanskrit attained the target making 73 runs in 7.2 overs. Ashish was top scorer with 20-ball 25 runs while Mahesh Dutt and Rahul added 13 and 10 runs respectively. Yushwinder took two wickets for Chemistry Department.
