JKPA condemned the tedious government approach towards pensioners | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 2: J&K Pensioners Association Jammu core Committee meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Govind Ram Sharma President of the Association at Rani Talab Jammu wherein the pensioners strongly condemned the State Government attitude for using slow tactics to deprive of the Old Pensioners / Family Pensioners of their genuine demands. The Association accused the coalition government for compelling the senior citizens to come out in the streets. The association members said that where the state Legislators, MLAs and MLCs have themselves enhanced their salaries and the pension from Rs. 40000/- per month to Rs. 80300/- per month and pension Rs. 12500 to Rs. 23000/- per month ensuring 100% hike in their own favour and medical allowance hiked to Rs. 1000/- per month and also to get arrears of the above items salaries / pensions in one installment for 18 months w.e.f 01.09.2009, but on the other side the state employees / pensioners have been discriminated in providing equal benefits to them in their salaries and pension benefits which are from 41 % to 51% only instead of 100% as is available in their own cases. The Association has therefore condemned the anti-employees / anti-pensioners attitude of State Government. The association has put forward many demands which includes revision of the arrears of the pensioners w.e.f 01.01.2006 to 30.06.2009 in one installment, 6 percent DA arrears to be paid in one installment, enhancement of the medical allowance, original amount of commutation to be recovered in 10 years instead of 15 years and others The Association has given an ultimatum to the state government to solve the issues within a period of 30 days and have threatened to go on strike if their demands would be ignored.
