Wild- cat rescued | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 2: A wild cat has been rescued and captured in the campus of K.V. NO.2, Sunjawan, on 1st April, 2011 by the WWF-India (J&K) and the school staff. The captured wild cat has been handed over to Chief Wildlife Warden, Department of Wildlife J&K. The Principal and the staff of the school cooperated in the safe capture of the animal. The school children showed keen interest in the animal and its safety. The wild -animal appeared in the campus of the school today morning and the Principal of the school informed WWF-India (J&K) office for the capture/rescue of the wild animal. It appeared that the young cat had strayed from its family. After thorough check of the campus the burrow of the family was found. Since the animal was in great trauma, after some treatment in the rescue centre at Manda Zoo it would be released in the campus to rejoin the family in wilderness.
