| Baisakhi mela arrangements discussed | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 2: Arrangements to celebrate historic 3-day Baisakhi Mela at Devika site, Udhampur from April 14 were discussed at a meeting of District Officers of various departments and prominent citizens held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Baseer Khan here today.
It was decided in the meeting that Executive Engineer PHE would ensure barricading and drinking water arrangements while Executive Officer, Municipality for ensuring proper cleansing of the site besides First Aid-cum-Awareness camp by Health Department. Executive Engineer, PDD would ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Mela days.
For the awareness of common masses about the different government sponsored schemes especially designed to ameliorate the socio-economic status of poor people, the departments of Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Handloom and Handicrafts etc. would put up their departmental stalls.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, . Surinder Gupta, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, district officers of various departments, Chairman and President Devika Baisakhi Mela Committee, Advocate Surinder Khajuria and Advocate S.D Kotwal, President Beopar Mandal, Rama Nand Baria and Deputy Chief Warden, Civil Defence, . Ved Prakash attended the meeting.
