Dogri play staged at Natrang studio

EARLY TIMES
Jammu, Apr 3: A new Dogri play ‘Ik Chitthi’ written and directed by Gaurav Triyal, a young artist of Natrang was staged here today at Natrang Studio.
The short play contained many emotions that audience could feel which were ably depicted by the writer in a very expressive manner.
The play opens in a room of ‘Ratan’ who is a native of Jammu but presently residing in Mumbai.
His departure from Jammu was associated with a very grim saga which unfolds itself in the play very subtly as the story proceeds.
His colleague ‘Suresh’, shares some nostalgic topics with him which didn’t seem to affect him at the surface level but his soul gets roughly scratched even with the slightest thoughts of all the good/bad memories of his old days, rather by the bad remembrances as there was nothing good to cherish which could soothe his heart.
He receives a letter from ‘Jeeto’ his beloved, who was the reason of all his worries, who had abandoned him in order to get married with someone else.
He was shocked to receive this unexpected letter and was drowned in the dilemma whether to read it or not as it was written by someone who had betrayed ham badly and made him to leave everything and run.
Finally he succumbs to his emotions and reads the letter which narrates a very miserable story of Jeeto’s life after she got married.
Her husband died, her in-laws treated her badly and abandoned her, she gave birth to a girl child who has become orphan as she may be dead when Ratan gets the letter because she was in the last stage of blood cancer.
This news made a current flow in Ratan’s body and his spine gets cold by the fit of grief. The play ends with a question, ‘should Ratan adopt the girl?’ as this was the last wish of the lady who had left him when he needed her the most.
Pawan Verma played ‘Ratan’ inefficient way. Niharika Sharma as ‘Jeeto’ and Mohit Sharma as ‘Suresh” were also very impressive. Lights were executed by Rahul Singh and music was operated by Aatish Gupta. Sumeet Sharma coordinated the show and the presentations were done by Dimple Sharma.
