| “Ek Prayas” felicitates distinguished personalities of Jammu region | | | EARLY TIMES
Jammu, Apr 3: Ten key personalities drawn from different spheres of society were felicitated today by, “EK Prayas”, for their excellent services to the society in an function presided over by R.S. Chib, Minister for Medical and Technical Education & Youth Services & Ssports.
Q.A. Akhoon, Minister CAPD & Transport graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The key personalities who were felicitated during the ceremony for their outstanding contribution to the society included Gulchain Singh Charak – educationist & social activist, H.K. Lohia (IPS) – IG traffic, O.P. Sharma Vidyarthi (IFS) – noted environmentalist, Farooq Khan (IPS) - DIG, Bhumesh Sharma (KAS)- Deputy Transport Commissioner J&K, Seema Shekhar – Additional Advocate General, B.S. Salathia- president Bar Association Jammu, Sohail Kazmi – veteran Journalist & social activist, S.P. Varma – social activist, Y.V. Sharma – president CCI Jammu.
The spokesperson Maheep Gupta of “Ek Prayas”, said, “All the people selected, by the executive committee after much deliberation, for this felicitation who have already carved a niche in their respective spheres & need no introduction. We are proud to have organized this felicitation ceremony & are rather honoured by their presence amongst us.”
He further informed, “The trust was formed with a wider purpose of serving the mankind & fostering the message of universal brotherhood & the website www.EkPrayas .org (containing the database of voluntary blood donors) was officially launched on 26th March’2011 at Jammu Club.
All the dignitaries present on the occasion hailed this effort & hoped that this type of felicitations of meritorious & deserving personalities should be a regular feature as would not only encourage the recipient of the award to continue put in their best efforts, but will also motivate others to follow suit.
