Army medical camp draws hundreds of people

ANANTNAG, April 3: Over 1200 patients were today provided free consultation and medicines at the Army's day-long medical-cum-veterinary camp in Frisal Yaripora of Kulgam District.
The camp was organised by the IRR under the aegis of 1 Sector RR in which
10 Army and civil doctors attended the patients, including women and children, and gave free medicines worth thousands of rupees to them.
The patients had thronged the camp from various villages, the spokesman said, adding that transport was provided to those who stayed at far-flung areas. Also, 16 pairs of crutches were distributed to physically challenged persons. At the veterinary section of the camp, over 828 animals were examined by army doctors and free medicines to their owners, the spokesman said.The camp, organised by Army as part of its Operation Sadbhavna , was aimed at further strengthening the bond between the security forces and the locals.
