Exhibition-cum-Sale of KVIB products concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 3: A seven days long State Level Exhibition-cum-sale of Khadi & Village Industries products organized by J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board concluded today at Kala Kendra Jammu. Secretary/CEO, KVIB, Ravinder Singh was the chief guest on the valedictory function. Appreciating the work of artisans and their strenuous efforts to popularize the craft in rural and urban areas of the State, Singh stressed for extensive establishment of the Micro tiny units and proclaimed that productive employment as propagated by the KVIB is the only key to the progress of Industrial sector in J&K state. He said that Kashmiri embroidery is an integral part of Kashmiri culture and due to its unique style motifs, design and colours its liking is spreading to all over in India and abroad. State Director, KVIC, B R Chouhan while addressing the function said that around 50,000 persons were provided employment opportunities on self help basis in the State and at national level, around 1.45 Cr people are benefitted by the KVIB schemes. He said that 25 % subsidy for open categories and 35 % for reserved categories is being provided by KVIB against the loan component of Rs 50,000 to Rs 25 lakh. In all 45 stalls were installed in the premises which included a stall set up by Santosh Michael of Jammu district, displaying various Khadi & Village products.
