J&K has potential in baseball: Federation | | | EARLY TIMS REPORT SRINAGAR, April 03: Jammu and Kashmir has great potential in the game of baseball provided the government extends a helping hand to promote this sport in the state by way of establishing required infrastructure. This was stated by president of the Amateur Baseball Federation of India, Rama Kant S Anglay soon after chairing an executive committee meeting here today. He said, “During my visit to the valley, I have witnessed youth already evinced their interest in this game, so, we foresee a great future for the game of baseball in Jammu and Kashmir. No doubt, state unit is putting in efforts to promote the game but at the same time government must extend a helping hand to the game.” Former Member Parliament, Rama Kant further said that the Federation is keen to recognize Snow Baseball and organise maiden National Sow Baseball Championship at Gulmarg in near future. Sharing more details, he said that the Baseball game was introduced for women's in 2004 for the first time at the international level. Earlier, welcoming the ABFI, the J&K Baseball Association said that there are bright prospects of this game and said the Association has introduced Snow Baseball during winter 2009 at Gulmarg and also organised an exhibition match association with J&K Tourism Department, Kashmir which was followed by first -ever Snow Baseball Championship. ‘
