2nd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Cricket Tournament | Narrow 3-run win for Bagwati Club | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 03: Bhagwati Cricket Club (BCC) today clinched the thriller beating Kabir Nagar Cricket Club (KNCC) by a narrow margin of three runs in the ongoing 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Cricket Cup at MA Stadium, here. It was Varinder, who held his nerves when it matter the most. Bowling last over of the innings, with seven runs needed by KNCC for win, Varinder bowled the ninth batsman giving away just three runs. Earlier, BCC after winning the toss and elected to bat first made 110 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sunil Manohar Singh was the top scorer with 39 runs while Nishant Singh Chib and Sarabjeet Saini contributed 14 and 10 runs respectively. From KNCC, Narotam was most successful bowler who took four wickets for 18 runs. Raj Kumar claimed three and Ranjeet bagged two. Later, chasing the target, KNCC fell short of just three runs to conclude their innings at 107 for nine. Dev Kumar (28) and Vinod (13) were main scorers while Narotam and Raj Kumar contributed 12 runs each. From BCC, Varinder claimed three wickets, followed by Rajesh Saini, who bagged two. For his well played innings of 39 runs, Sunil Manohar Singh was adjudged man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Pappu Dogra, Madan Lal and Rajeev Pakhetra.
