| Azad directs for timely completion of all procedures for two mega super-specialty hospitals in state | | Fixes 18 months target for completion of projects | |
Jammu, Nov 15 Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad discussed modalities for establishment of two super-specialty hospitals at Srinagar and Jammu at a high level meeting here today. These hospitals will cost Rs. 120 crore each. Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, Principal Secretary Planning Mr. S S Kapoor, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Anil Goswami, Commissioner/Secretary R&B Mr. Atul Dulloo, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Shalindera Kumar, Vice Chairman JDA Mr. Ashok Parmar, Secretary Housing and Urban Development Mrs. Naseema Lankar, Secretary Health and Medical Education Mr. K. B. Jandial, Principal Government Medical College Jammu Dr. Mumtaz Goni, Principal Government Medical College Srinagar Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Chief Engineer CPWD and other senior officers participated in the meeting. Chief Minister stressed for formulation of detailed project reports and completing other pre-construction formalities for both the prestigious hospitals so that work on these is taken up expeditiously and completed in a time-bound manner to benefit the people at the earliest. He said that both the hospitals should come up within 18 months after the work commences on these. Mr. Azad emphasized for making best use of available land for these hospitals by formulating imaginative and futuristic projects. He was apprised that the detailed project report for Jammu super-specialty hospital will be ready within 15 days while that for Srinagar super-specialty hospital by next month. Chief Minister also took stock of the progress made on construction of 200-bed paediatrics hospital in SMGS hospital complex including 30-bed paediatrics surgery wing. He also reviewed the headway made for expanding and upgrading emergency wing at GMC Jammu.
