| Writers Forum organises multilingual mushaira | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 3: Writers` Forum, Jammu organized a multilingual mushaira here today at K L Saigal Hall.
The renowned poet, scholar and intellect from Punjab Dr Mohanjit, presided the proceedings while former special secretary to government and Dogri writer/singer T R Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Mohanjit appreciated the poets who recited their poems in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Dogri and other regional languages and said that the poetry written in this region has its own flavour and beauty. While congratulating Pritpal Singh Betab, he said that writer’s forum Jammu contributed a lot to encourage budding talent and providing platform to the literature of the region of various languages and dialects.
Pritpal Singh Betab said that writers Forum, Jammu is committed for the development of the literature and culture of the languages spoken in the Jammu and Kashmir State. The poets who recited their poems includes: Raswinder Kaur (Punjabi), Swami Anterneerav (Punjabi), Sheikh Sajjad (Urdu) Dr Satya Pal Shrivatsa (Hindi), Manoj Sharma (Hindi), Liaqat Jafri (Urdu), Amarjeet Kaur Neer (Punjabi), Sarda Sahni (Punjabi), Gulzabeen Sabha (Urdu) Virinder Kesar (Dogri) and Dheeraj Keasr (Dogri).
