NC, PDP building political castles on sufferings of Kashmiris: Er Rasheed
'Omar Abdullah suffering from political inertia'
4/3/2011 10:17:34 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, April 3: Reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir was neither ‘integral’ part of India nor ‘jugular’ vein of Pakistan, MLA Langate, Engineer Rasheed Sunday said it is a ‘disputed’ territory future of which has to be decided by the people of the state.
He was speaking at a rally in Langate Kupwara organised for him by the supporters of his constituency for his role in raising the public issues in the Assembly session.
Addressing the rally, Engineer Rasheed reiterated his strand saying that J&K was a ‘disputed’ territory pending solution. “The aspirations of all the people of the state irrespective of religion, region or language have to be taken into consideration for the just and final settlement of the issue,” he maintained. He reiterated his stand reading inclusion of militant leadership in dialogue process saying no solution can be envisioned without the involvement of the youth who have picked up arms.
Lashing at NC and PDP, Rasheed said both the regional parties have miserably failed to bring any relief to the traumatized people of Kashmir. “Both the parties ruled the state and promised moon and stars, but both failed to save life and honour of people,” he lamented adding, “whether its political or development front, NC and PDP performed dismally and just are building their political castles on the tears, graves and sufferings of gullible Kashmiris.”
Er Rasheed said that in the larger interests of the people, he had extended support to the Omar Abdullah government, “but it seems the chief minister has either forgotten his promises or he is suffering from political inertia.” Referring to just-concluded session of the Assembly, MLA Langate rued that government seems to sleep on the vital issues of public importance which were raised in the House.
