| Annual turn over of JAKFED touches Rs. 82 crore, 25 % increase in profits recorded: Zargar | | | Jammu, Nov 15 The annual turn over of JAKFED has crossed Rs. 82 crores and also an increase of 25 percent has been recorded in the annual income of the corporation. The corporation has earned a profit of Rs. 3.27 crore during the last financial year besides clearing a liability of Rs. 1.20 crore. This was stated by the Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar at a function organized by JAKFED in collaboration with IFFCO at Jammu today in connection with the 53rd Cooperative Week Celebrations. He said that the corporation has provided 74,669 metric tones of fertilizers worth Rs. 1.98 crore during the current financial year as against 55,880 metric tones during the last year among the farmers and orchardists of the state. Likewise the corporation has also made a business of Rs. 10.91crores by the sale of cement among the customers of the state. He said that the corporation has provided 3,33086 LPG cylinders among the registered customers during the current financial year as against 3,19,349 cylinders provided last year. He said that JAKFED is providing commodities including fertilizers, cement and cooking gas to the consumers through its 113 register societies and 270 dealers. Minister of State for Agriculture Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan speaking on the occasion asked for making JAKFED a self-reliant institution and said that this is only possible by the sincere approach to be adopted by the management and staff of the corporation. He also called for extending the services of the JAKFED in far-flung and remote areas of the state. Among others who also spoke on the occasion include Secretary Cooperative S. Dalip Singh, Managing Director JAKFED Mirza Muzaffar Iqbal, Marketing Manager IFFCO S. S. Lehal and Registrar Cooperatives G. N. Qasba.
