RTCC hails proposed visit of Dalai Lama to Ambaran

AKHNOOR, April 4:
The core group of Raj Tilak Celebration Committee (RTCC) held a special meeting at Akhnoor to appreciate the efforts of Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma and Member of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma, in projecting and show casing Ambaran and Jia Pota as renowned religious, historical and cultural centers of J&K before Dalai Lama in New Delhi during the Photo Exhibition held in New Delhi on April 2.
The committee said that Madan Lal and Sham Lal have been taking keen interest in highlighting historical importance of Akhnoor.
They have been in the forefront in the development of Akhnoor as an attractive tourism centre and its projection as an ancient heritage place, the committee added
Committee complimented them for extending invitation to His Holiness to visit Ambaran to see the origin and excavations of Buddhist Stupas and Harrapan civilisation at Ambaran which the spiritual leader accepted happily.
Thakur K P Singh, Chairman of the Committee complimented Sharma brothers for briefing Dalali Lama about historical significance of Akhnoor because of Jia Pota and Ambaran, River Chenab, Parshu Ram Temple and Sunder Singhji Gurdwara.
Other members of the Committee also complimented Sharma brothers for bringing Dr Karan Singh, MP and President of Indian Council of Cultural Relations to Jia Pota for the installation of Maharaja Gulab Singh and Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s coronation plaque on October 21 last.
