NC, PDP ‘fooling’ Kashmiris over Dogra certificate issue: Er Rasheed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar Apr 4 : MLA Langate, Engineer Rasheed, Monday expressed surprise over the reaction of Peoples Democratic Party and National Conference about the Dogra certificate issue after the Assembly session ended. Blaming both the parties of opportunism he said that they were exploiting the sentiments of the Kashmiri people. “It is surprising that NC and PDP have expressed concern about the Dogra certificate set to be issued to the Jammuites, after the Assembly session is over, though I was left alone in the house when I raised the issue in time and protested,” Rasheed said in a statement. “PDP and NC released statements against the Government decision of issuing the Dogra certificate to the Jammuites though both the parties remained tight lipped when I protested against the order in the Assembly and then staged a walk out,” he said. “Every voice raised against the issuance of Dogra certificate should be appreciated as it is a serious issue but a common Kashmiri would like to know the reason for which both, NC and PDP, remained silent when I protested in the house,” he added. He said that these parties were ‘befooling’ the people of Kashmir by reaming silent over some issues in the house and then releasing statements to local papers once they are back to the Valley. “This is just opportunism but such opportunist parties should note that the Kashmiri people are grown up and can understand the dirty politicking being played with them.”
Terming the Dogra certificate as part of some big conspiracy MLA Langate said, “On one hand Government claims to be for the unity of the state but on the other the same state is being divided by issuing different certificates, diverting the funds which are actually for the development of Kashmir and making development task forces for Ladakh.”
