Two revenue officials suspended

SRINAGAR, April 4:
The government has suspended two revenue officials for their alleged involvement in tampering of official records in Bandipora district.
People of the area had lodged complaints against Mohammad Shafi Lone and Abdul Rashid Parray, Patwaris, alleging they were involved in embezzlement, tampering in official records, provoking of employees against the district administration and harassing the peasants, an official spokesman said
After taking note of these allegations, the Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, M A Lone ordered their suspension with immediate effect.
Deputy Commissioner told that administrative action was initiated against the erring officials as they are also involved in alleged corruption and misuse of their official position.
He said a team of senior officers has seized the official records from them so that common people do not suffer in solving their problems with regard to PRCs and ration cards.
