Ensure quality medicare facilities to yatris: Sham | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, APRIL 05- With a view to provide better medicare facilities to the Mata Vashno Devi yatries on the eve of Navratra days, Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today visited Sub-District Hospital Katra and took stock of the arrangements made by the health department for visiting yatris. The Minister during his inspection asked concerned authorities for making special arrangements in view of the heavy rush of pilgrims, especially during the Navratra days. The Minister went round all the wards, units and took first hand appraisal about the facilities available there. He laid stress on maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospital. He directed the doctors to ensure best possible medicare to the patients. Mr. Sham also reviewed of the progress of ongoing work of new building of hospital coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.56 crore. He was apprised that till date an amount of Rs. 4.87 crore has been expended on the execution of hospital complex of which major portion has been completed. He asked executing agency to ensure use of quality material in the execution of the complex and instructed that the work should be completed within prescribed time frame fixed by the department for early benefits of the patients. Later, the Minister also took stock of the pace of progress on-going work of Shalimar Park near Katra, which is being constructed by the Floriculture Department. He issued instructions for creating more re-creational facilities in the park for the pilgrims. Interacting with the locals and outsider pilgrims, the Minister said that Government is keen to develop more facilities for the visiting pilgrims so that they can relax after completing their Darshan in this holy town. Officers of the district administration and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
