| Lok Adalat settles 16 cases at Reasi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
REASI, APRIL 05- District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Reasi under the Chairmanship of Mr. R. K. Watal today convened a Lok Adalat at Reasi Court Complex in which 39 cases have been taken, out of which 10 post litigation cases cases and 6 pre litigation cases were decided.
Pre litigation cases of three applicants for grant of old age/widow pension were also taken in which it was informed by the social welfare department that sanction of two cases has been accorded whereas that of remaining are going to be considered before 30th of this month. Pre litigation cases of different banks for an amount of Rs. 13,120,00/- were settled through mediation and conciliation and Rs. 50,000/- was recovered and paid to the other side on spot.
Lok Adalat was presided over by Mr. R. K. Watel Pr. District & Sessions Judge Reasi, who was assisted by Mr. O. P. Thakur Chief Judicial Magistrate and Sudesh Sharma Munsiff Reasi and a number of litigants and Managers of Banks have also attended the Lok Adalat.
Next special Lok Adalat for matrimonial cases is scheduled to be held on April 15, 2011. The litigant and general public who are interested to get their cases settled in the Lok Adalat shall approach to the respective courts for listening their cases in the Lok Adalat.
