| High profile CM's security annoys media, CPMG | | | Early Times Report
srinagar, Apr 5: Security set-up of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led to the cancellation of a press conference by Chief Post Master General of the state, who also left the venue in a huff.
Abdullah on Tuesday was attending a function at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) at Srinagar, where Press Information Bureau (PIB) had organized a press conference which was to be addressed by Chief Post Master General, J&K Circle, John Samuel.
CM Security did not allow media to enter into the premises of SKICC despite repeated requests from the PIB and Post Office authorities. PIB officer said that they are tendering apology to media personnel as SSP Security did not allow them because of the presence of Chief Minister at SKICC.
"It is an insult to our Officer and we can't bear it," Post Office official said. Samuel was 'speechless' and couldn't 'digest this humiliation', the official said. No press conference was held and not only media but people from Chief Minister's Ganderbal Constituency were not allowed to meet Abdullah. |
