NCP demands conferring of “Bharat Ratna” upon Sachin Tendulkar | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Apr 6: State NCP under the chairmanship of former minister & NCP chief Randhir Singh have extended congratulations to the Indian Cricket Team which won the world cup. In a resolution which was passed in the State Committee praising Sharad Pawar ICC Persident, it conveyed heartiest congratulations for winning the prestigious cricket World Cup Final “You have really done proud for not only 121 crore Indians but billions of cricket lovers all over the globe. We highly admire your talent, dedication, farsightedness and managerial capacity which have given new meaning to the “Cricket for Peace.” Singh who is known to Pawar said “I vividly recall the period of early seventies when you have envisioned construction of Wankhade Stadium after the name of then speaker Maharastra Legislative Assembly and untiring efforts to build this stadium brick by brick and provision to provide free passes to the ground staff with their family in special galleries reserved for them who prepare pitch, which gave glittering World Cup to India creating a history for host country that won the Cup first time and presented by a person as ICC President who constructed the Wankhade Stadium as his vision project which has come true”. The State NCP on behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir strongly urge the legendary, Sachin Tendulkar be conferred with the Bharat Ratna Award for his glorious contributions for the last 22 years. The State NCP has demanded the state Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to honour the players of winning Indian cricket team who won the world cup in shape of prize money of Rs 25,00,000 each on behalf of people of the Jammu & Kashmir.
