| Kathua Police arrests minister’s kin | | Girl approaches court for incorporation of relevant sections | |
Kathua, Nov 15 While police arrested the grant son of a cabinet minister, against whome a case of alleged molestation was registered, people hold a strong protest demonstration and blocked Jammu-Pathankot National Highway for more than two hours against what they termed as attempt by police to hush up the case. As per the sources Kathua police today raided different places and arrested Nitan Sharma against whom, an FIR was lodged for allegedly molesting and threatening a girl. It is pertinent to mention here that accused had made an attempt to molest a college girl and had been harassing her from the last six months. Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that hundreds of People including the students of degree college Kathua today hold a strong protest demonstration and blocked jammu-pathankote National Highway for hours together, which however was disbursed by the police. When contacted, advocate Suman who is also relative of the girl confirmed the arrest and told News Agency of Kashmir that police today arrested the accused, but alleged the relevant sections have not been incorporated in the FIR so far. Meanwhile, the girl, Meenali Sharma, today moved an application before Chief Judicial Magistrate through bench of advocates and prayed for incorporation of the relevant section as mentioned in the original complaint, sources said adding “the court has directed police to incorporate all the relevant sections which have been mentioned in the written complaint of the applicant”,. “The applicant’s through its councils requested the court to issue directions for incorporate the sections 366,511,294,354 of RPC and 3/25 of Arms Act,” Advocate Suman told News Agency of Kashmir.
