Bhalla inspects Rs 12 crore auditorium

JAMMU, April 6: The work on prestigious teachers’ Bhawan and state- of- the- art auditorium has started at government Girls’ High School Ghandinagar here.
The twin projects of Rs 6 crore each on completion will facilitate students in conducting extracurricular activities in a systematic manner and provide accommodation to the teachers of far off areas visiting the winter capital for official purposes.
This was stated by Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla while chairing a meeting of officers of Housing Board Corporation, here today.
Managing Director Dalip Thusu and other senior officers of Housing Board Corporation were present in the meeting.
Inspecting the projects later, Bhalla informed that 19000 sq ft area auditorium would be fully air-conditioned with facilities for projector room, toilet, dressing room and VIP room, adding on the completion of auditorium, the schools of Gandhi Nagar and its adjoining areas would arrange annual days, seminars, symposium, debating contests besides craft melas, and exhibitions etc on nominal fee there.
Regarding construction of teacher’s bhawan, the Minister said the 50-room capacity complex would come up on 27000 sq ft area by April 2012, adding the teachers of far-off areas of the State would avail accommodation on nominal fee on its completion. He said the bhawan would have mess facilities.
Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete both the projects by April 2012 for extending timely benefits to the students and teachers.
Earlier, a deputation of residents of Channi Rama met the Minister and projected the problems being faced by them which include de-notification of 1091 kanals acquired land in Channi Rama and Rakh Bahu presently under existing houses, allotment of alternate plots displaced families, transport facility, construction of approach/link roads to Railway Station-Trikuta Nagar, upgradation of educational institutes, setting up of post office, opening of dispensary etc.
Bhalla gave patient hearing and assured them the genuine demands would be looked into in a phased manner.
