| Mehbooba writes to Omar on vigilance Act | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 6 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party President, Mahboba Mufti, Wednesday urged the Chief Minister to review the law governing the functioning of the Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC).
In a detailed letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Mahbooba said: “The country recently witnessed a long political, administrative and judicial process over the appointment of the Chief Vigilance Commissioner of India culminating in a historic order on the subject from the Supreme Court of India.” .Mahbooba said: “A fresh view of the Act should be taken by the government. The views of the stakeholders, civil society and importantly the guidelines of the Supreme Court would have to be configured into such an exercise,” she said.
