Minister urged to look into water Water scarcity | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Apr 6: Tehsil Thathri Development Front (TTDF) on Wednesday urged the Minister for PHE Taj Mohi-ud-Din for personally look into water scarcity being faced by the public of tehsil Thathri. A general meeting of the public of tehsil Thathri was held under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Kumar Rao, president of the front. The meeting observed that people of Hagona, Kunthal, Suranga, Psnshaee, Sichal, Joura Kalan and .Jour’a Khurd have to travel four to seven kilometers to fetch a bucket of water as the PHE department has failed to ensure water supply in these localities. “People of Hagona and Joura Kalan had approached to PHE minister last year but his marked applications had been thrown in the dustbin by department in Doda,” the participants alleged. Rao urged the state Government to immediately redress the grievances of the people of Tehsil Thathri. They also complained non-availability of electricity in several villages like Suranga, Kunthal, Sichal, Gallu, Churru, Shamdlian, Padhara and Dhalla, “While the MLC Dada Naresh Gupta also highlighted the problem in the State Legislative Council and the PHE Minister had also instructed concerned SE and Executive Engineer Doda to take effective measures, but no action has been taken so far,” he maintained. They also demanded that the Bridge on Kahara-.Jai road at Kahara which is ready for the last five months be made operational at the earliest.
