Extension lecture on ‘microteaching’ held | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Apr 6: A day-long extension lecture on ‘microteaching’ was on Wednesday organized by Trikuta College of Education with an aim of providing knowledge and skills to students and staff. Chief guest and resource person of extension lecture was Prof H R Shan, Coordinator Directorate Distance Education, University of Jammu while R L Sharma, chairman Shri Sain Charitable Trust, Jammu was the guest of honor. Gayatri Gupta, Principal Trikuta Degree College, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Principal Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management were welcomed by Saifullah Khan, principal of the college. Prof Shan delivered effective lecture on micro teaching and highlighted the concept of micro teaching step by step. He also explained history and importance of microteaching as well as its development in India. He also delivered a demonstration lesson on reinforcement Skill and explained the terms associated with it. Principal of the college in his concluding lecture stated that micro teaching plays a very important role in improving pupil teacher personality. He laid emphasis over use of tape recorder, video camera etc. during microteaching practice. He also said that a trained teacher may differ from untrained by many ways. Speaking on the occasion, R L Sharma said that teachers are the nation builders and there should be no compromise with quality education. He further said that B.Ed. students must have knowledge of micro teaching skills and its effective use because it provides effective feedback to practicing teacher.
