BJP organises constituency-level rallies | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Apr 6: On the occasion of 32nd “Foundation Day of BJP”, constituency level programmes were organised throughout the state with party leaders and MLAs attending the programmes in their respective areas. The party has decided to organize programmes from April 6 to June 23 with a motive to educate the people over the issues of price-rise, corruption, black money, discrimination and delay in holding delimitation. The state BJP president Shamsher Singh Manhas while chairing a programme of Vijaypur constituency at Sarore garlanded the portraits of great nationalist ideologues and inspiring sources behind party cadres. He also focused on the circumstances which led to the formation of BJP in the year 1980. He said there existed other political parties in India before 1980 also but it was felt that the nation needed a party with nationalist outlook and firm ideology coupled with principles. “Although Congress ruled the country for maximum period after independence but people still term the six-year rule of BJP-led NDA as golden period which is the testimony of the fact that the motive with which BJP came into existence had been achieved to a great extent,” he maintained. “Had the BJP given another chance, the picture of India would have been different,” he remarked. MLAAshok Khajuria alongwith district president Rajesh Gupta chaired the party programme in Company Bagh area of Jammu East constituency. Khajuria in his address, stressed on the need of bringing all the “patriotic people” under one umbrella as the developments taking place in the state are not healthy for the nation. He alleged that utterances by Chief Minister on the issue of accession, demands like self-rule, autonomy, Azadi and pre-1953 position were aimed at appeasing a handful of separatists and the BJP cadre need to be more alert. State vice-president Chander Prakash Ganga claimed that while the party cadres feel proud to be introduced as BJP activists, those associated with other parties feel shy while naming their parties of affiliation which indicates that BJP was a value based and people centric party.
