| Checking of food items carried out in Samba | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Apr 6: Price verification committee headed by Bansi Lal Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue conducted the checking of rates of food items, eatables and sweetmeat in Samba.
The committee comprising of Tehsildar, Assistant Director, CA&PD, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Samba, Food Inspector carried out the inspections of Restaurants, Dhabas and shops for maintaining the wholesome quality of food items and also for checking of rates to avoid any overcharging during Navratra Days.
It was informed that the District Administration in a meeting to make necessary arrangements for Navratras had directed the committee to carry out verification of price lists and checking of shops especially the cleanliness during Navratras so that the quality of food items is maintained and general public does not face any difficulties during the festival days.
It was also intimated that fine amounting to Rs.2200 has also been realized during the checking from the shopkeepers for violating the provisions of PFA and also for using domestic LPG cylinders in the shops/establishments. It was also informed that a large quantity of spoiled vegetables was also destroyed by the team, on spot, during the campaign.
