| Justice Kalifulla will be acting HC CJ | | | jammu: President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil has ordered the appointment of Justice Fakkir Mohammad Ibrahim Kalifulla, a seniormost J&K high court judge, as acting Chief Justice.
According to a notification issued today, Justice Kalifulla would perform the duties of acting Chief Justice of J&K high court with effect from April 7, 2011, following the retirement of Chief Justice Dr Aftab Hussain Saikia.
Justice Kalifulla hails from Karaikudi in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu. He was elevated as permanent judge of Madras high court on March 2, 2000, and took oath as J&K high court judge on February 24 this year. |
