SVO books 3 R&B officials alongwith 12 others | CB challans CAPD dealer, 3 others | | Early Times Report jammu, Apr 6: Twelve persons including three government officials were booked for fabrication of records and misappropriation of lakhs of rupees by drawing bills against non-existent and substandard works, in 2007-2010 thereby causing huge loss to the state exchequer. Meanwhile Crime Branch Jammu, after two years of investigation, produced challan against three persons including a dealer found involved in misappropriation of CAPD ration here today. Sources said that sleuths of State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Wednesday booked three officials of Special Sub Division Road and Buildings, Tangdhar for misappropriation of government money. On their disclosure nine more persons involved in the racket were arrested. A case against them under FIR No 5/2011 P/S VOK under sections 5(1) (d) punishable u/s 5(2) J&K P.C.Act Svt 2006 r/w Sections 120-B, 167-A, 409, 467, 468 and 471 RPC was registered against them. They have been identified as Abdul Qayoom Khan, the then JE, Paramjeet Singh, the then AEE, and Amin-u-Din Wani, the then Executive Engineer. Others who were booked besides them are Mushtaq Ahmad son of Abdullah Joo resident of Ibkote, Abdul Rehman Qureshi son of Mohammed Yaqoob resident of Chamkote, Ghulam Hyder Shah son of Imran Shah resident of Chamkote, Abdul Rafiq son of Ahad Joo resident of Gundi Shot, Abdul Majid Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Soura Srinagar, Naseem Akhter son of Mohammad Yaqoob resident of Bhaderkote, Jameel Ahmad Khan son of Ali Asgar Khan resident of Teethwal, Ghyas u Din son of Abdul Majid resident of Tangdhar and Mohammad Yaseen Mir son of Sattar Mir. Additional SP Crime Branch Ranjeet Singh , giving information said that challan against three persons identified as Rajesh Kumar, CAPD dealer, Surinder Kumar, a shopkeeper and Om Prakash, driver, has been produced before district Udhampur court today. Initially, Udhampur police, on the tip off, laid a naka and seized the truck laden with government ration including 115 bags of rice and 22 bags of rice. The driver of the truck was also arrested on spot. Later the case was handed over to the Crime Branch and accordingly a case under FIR NO 277/09 was registered in this connection. During investigation it came to know that the truck was hired by the dealer for carrying the consignment to download the same at a grocer shop. On the disclosure of the truck driver Crime Branch sleuths conducted a raid and arrested shopkeeper and CAPD dealer. During questioning, accused admitted that they were instrumental for misappropriation and black-marketing of government ration meant for Below Poverty Line people. |
