Mufti to discuss Kashmir with HM | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 6: The Union Home Ministry has called former Home Minister of India and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Syed to New Delhi to discuss Kashmir situation. The Home Ministry is likely to discuss means to prevent revival of last summer-like agitation in Jammu and Kashmir and also sort out some sensitive issues like repercussion of the Amnesty International Report pertaining to the state, recommendations made by interlocutors and the ongoing Indi-Pak talks. Mufti Is currently in New Delhi and according to informed sources, the Home Ministry intends to take Sayed into confidence before implementing the recommendations of the Interlocutors. Mufti is also expected to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to discuss vital and sensitive issues pertaining to the trouble-torn state with them. Mufti's engagements in New Delhi have not been publicized for obvious reasons. The PDP spokesman Nayeem Akhter said that he doesn't know the whereabouts of Mufti and he has no information in this regard. |
