| No plan for president's rule in UP: Governor | | |
Lucknow, Nov 15 Uttar Pradesh Governor TV Rajeshwar Wednesday rebutted Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's allegation that the former had recommended imposition of the president's rule in the state.
"The governor has not sent any report (to the central government) recommending the dismissal of the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh," said a statement from Raj Bhawan, the governor's official residence.
It was issued after Yadav said the governor had recommended the dismissal of his government.
"Since the governor has not denied news reports quoting Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal about dismissal of my government, we do believe the reports," Yadav told reporters earlier in the day.
The assembly elections in the state are due early next year.
